The Search for Slinky

Livsstil og trends | 29. august 2011

In the mid 1940's, a Pennsylvania inventor 'accidentally' invented the Slinky, while trying to perfect a stabilizing spring for Naval instruments. Today, 300 million Slinkys have been sold and it is one of the most popular toys - and beautiful mistakes- in the history of invention.

That and other mistakes were the focus of the 2011 NEXT Conference in Aarhus, Denmark.

The conference, now in it's eighth year, is intended to give inventors a chance to bring their ideas - big and small, practical and quixotic - to the public and to potential investors.
