Yvo de Boer is the former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and today a special global advisor on climate change for consulting firm KPMG.

At the Green Growth Leaders Forum in Copenhagen in 2011, he explains that one of the biggest mistakes in climate policy to date has been the fact that only producers are forced to pay for the amount of C02 related to the production of goods. In the future, those costs must be passed on to the consumer if we are to reduce the impact of carbon emissions related to the manufacture and transport of goods around the world.
